WHY CHOOSE BBIS BOARDING?

BBIS Boarding combines personalised support, academic excellence and a close-knit international community, preparing students for success at leading universities worldwide.

A Close-Knit International Boarding Community

With around 70 boarding students from across the world, BBIS offers a welcoming residential environment where every student is known personally and supported as an individual. Our dedicated boarding mentors provide daily guidance and encouragement, helping students grow in independence while always knowing that trusted adults are nearby.

Living and learning together creates a strong sense of community. Students build lasting friendships, gain confidence and learn from one another’s cultures and perspectives.

A GLOBALLY RECOGNISED IB EDUCATION

Boarding students follow the internationally respected International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. In Grades 9 and 10, students complete the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), building strong academic foundations and critical thinking skills. In Grades 11 and 12, they pursue the IB Diploma Programme (DP), a rigorous qualification recognised by leading universities around the world.

Each year, BBIS graduates continue their studies at universities across Germany, the United Kingdom, Europe, North America and beyond. The IB Diploma prepares students not only academically but also through the development of research skills, critical thinking and an international perspective that universities value.

Small class sizes, with an average teacher-to-student ratio of 1:7, allow teachers to provide individual attention and support each student in reaching their academic potential.

THE ADVANTAGE OF BERLIN

Located on a peaceful green campus just outside Berlin, BBIS offers the best of both worlds: a safe residential environment combined with access to one of Europe’s most dynamic capital cities.

Boarding students regularly explore Berlin’s cultural life - from museums and historic landmarks to concerts, sporting events and international festivals. These experiences broaden perspectives and complement the global outlook of the IB curriculum.

A BALANCED BOARDING EXPERIENCE

Boarding life is carefully structured to support both academic success and personal wellbeing. Students benefit from a balanced daily routine that includes study time, extracurricular activities, social events and opportunities to relax with friends.

Whether participating in sports teams, theatre productions, music ensembles, Model United Nations or weekend excursions around Berlin and beyond, students discover new interests and form friendships that often last well beyond their years at BBIS.

At BBIS Boarding, students gain an outstanding education while developing independence, resilience and the confidence to shape their own future.
