We offer the world-leading International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. Students in Grades 9 and 10 pursue the IB Middle Years Programme (IB MYP). Then, in Grades 11 and 12, our IB Diploma Programme (IB DP) meets the academic rigour expected of globally renowned universities across the globe, while also offering invaluable experience in community service. This programme, for students aged 16-19, prepares students for life beyond BBIS – with our students proudly accepted at universities in Germany, across Europe and the United Kingdom, as well as North America and Asia. Here is a snapshot of where our alumni are now.
With an average teacher-to-student ratio of 1:7, our small class sizes ensure every student receives exceptional support throughout their learning journey.
All of our regular classes are taught in English.
As well as delivering the IB curriculum, we are committed to developing invaluable lifelong skills like critical thinking, languages and intercultural competencies. We also offer a huge range of extra-curricular activities. It all combines to encourage every student to pursue their passions, be courageous and explore new opportunities.
Ideally located in a forested area on the southwest border of Berlin, our spacious and peaceful 360,000 sqm campus is the ideal setting for growth and discovery. While less than an hour’s drive from the bustle of central Berlin and Potsdam, BBIS feels like it is a world away.
The school and its boarding house are located in Kleinmachnow, in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district of Brandenburg, and is well connected by public transport and only 40-minute drive away from the airport.
Our classrooms are modern, comfortable and well-equipped to cater for a broad range of learning needs. The BBIS campus also includes:
Our boarding students live on-campus in very comfortable two-person rooms, each with an ensuite bathroom.
Our boarding facilities also include:
Our boarding students take part in many different activities, clubs and events, both at school and in the wider community in Kleinmachnow and Berlin. As well as the school’s extra-curricular programme, BBIS Boarding offers a full programme of weekday and weekend activities and clubs.
Our boarding team provides the pastoral care your child needs to realise their academic and life goals. With diverse backgrounds in international education and more, we are lucky to have such a supportive, nurturing team of mentors and administrators at BBIS Boarding. Our live-in mentors reside in apartments within the student boarding house, and our administrative team is here to support students during the day.
